Teenage Kicks - Our Public Health annual report 2009
In his annual report for 2009, Director of Public Health, Dr Andrew Furber, focuses on the needs of adolescents.
Across Wakefield district, public services are increasingly working together to address local issues, but more needs to be done if we are to tackle some of the longstanding causes of poor health
In a series of short films, local young people talk honestly about the issues which affect them and about the support which is available to them. The films highlight concerns and lifestyles of young people across the Wakefield district and show examples of positive intervention ranging from sexual health work, healthy eating programmes, physical activity in communities, confidence building, empowerment and engagement in democracy.
The issues are highlighted in an overview film exploring the main themes of the written report, 'Teenage Kicks', which is also available to download from this page.
