Activators

Making a change for life doesn't need to be difficult. With a little help, it can be really rewarding and fun and the activators can give you that little bit of motivation and support needed.

What are activators?

Activators are trained staff who can help individuals and families to find and join local activities and sport. They can help motivate you and can even set up new activities where there's local interest.

Alternatively we have health trainers who work with people on a one-to-one basis. They listen to what changes people want to make in their life and encourage them to set goals to achieve them. This could be supporting someone to stop smoking, improve their diet, help to reduce stress or to increase their exercise levels. If you'd like to find out more visit our health trainer page.

What area do they cover?

They work across the district but specifically in the Airedale and Ferry Frystone, Kinsley and Fitzwilliam and Eastmoor and central Wakefield areas.

How can I find out more?

If you'd like to know if and how an activator can help you give Ian Smales a call on 01924 307811. Or email Ian on ismales@wakefield.gov.uk
