Access to nature

Residents and visitors to Airedale and Ferry Fryston are benefitting from a £125,000 investment tio improve local green spaces and encourage more people to enjoy the countryside for healthy exercise and relaxation.

What's the investment being spent on?

The money will be spent on opening up access to Well Wood, Frystone Country Trail and parts of Frystone Wood. We've teamed up with the Castleford Heritage Trust and Natural England to make this possible. There'll be a range of events and activities for people to explore and enjoy the beautiful woodland. And there's a full-time ranger being employed to encourage, inspire and get residents and visitors alike, to get active in the countryside.
