Cycling Information Events and Health rides
Along with our health walks, we also work with the Wakefield District Cycle Forum, Wakefield Council and various voluntary organisations to provide free health rides and other cycling events throughout the district.
Cycling information events, where people can try out the cycling skills course, visit the bike doctor or get information cycling routes and activities are held throughout the year at a variety of venues.
Health rides are organised by volunteer leaders, and last about an hour, covering a distance of between five and ten miles. Health rides suit all ages and abilities and take place on traffic-free routes and quiet roads.
Did you know?
- A 30 minute cycle ride, five times a week, burns off the equivalent of 11 pounds of fat a year, and
- cycling can be cheaper than going to the gym!
If you'd like to find out when and where your nearest health ride or cycling information event is, or if you would like:
- a local cycle map
- to become a cycle leader
- to join the cycle users forum, or
- to take a cycle training course
just download the health rides leaflet listed below or contact Pete Hodgson, tel: 01924 315775 for more information.
