Mental Health

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem during our life. Talk to your doctor or other health professional about ways to help you cope.

Mental health is everyone's business - individuals, families, employers, educators and communities all need to play their part. Good mental health and resillence are fundamental to our physical health, our relationships, our education, our training, our work and to achieving our potential.

If you feel you are suffering from generalised anxiety and depression, talk to your GP in the first instance for support and advice. There are a variety of treatments available from self guided support to talking therapies. You don't have to cope on your own.

NHS Wakefield District works in partnership with local health, council and voluntary organisations to provide advice, help and support for people who suffer from a mental illness.
