Oneplace - the Comprehensive Area Assessment reporting website

A new website has been launched called Oneplace. It gives you a complete picture of how well you are being served by your local public services and how the services are tackling the most important challenges in the Wakefield district.

Oneplace is where you will find the results of the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), which was launched in April this year to look at how well councils, children's services, health, waste and recycling, fire and the police are working together to meet the needs of local people.

Oneplace assessments paint an overall picture - they highlight where things are going well, where there may be problems and how councils and their partners are working together to improve quality of life for residents.

Organisations which make up the Wakefield Together partnership have been praised in the first Oneplace report. The report says that Wakefield Together has a good understanding of the big issues affecting people in Wakefield and many of the things people have identified as important are showing big improvements.

Green flags are used to highlight important achievements and innovation by public bodies. Wakefield has been awarded a green flag for work in bringing communities closer together by developing nature reserves, including using former industrial sites.

In areas where action is needed, red flags are awarded, and none have been awarded to Wakefield.

Alan Wittrick, Chief Executive of NHS Wakefield District and Deputy Chair of Wakefield Together said: "We are pleased that this report has highlighted some of the excellent partnership work that has already gone on to improve health in the Wakefield district. We have an important role in enhancing the health and well-being of our local people and recognise the importance of working together to tackle some of the more challenging health issues for the future."
