Transforming primary care and community services
We want all local health services to provide safe care, in a way that suits patients' needs - and that gives the best possible results. This means that we are always looking at the things we do to see how we can make them even better.
One of the areas we are currently focusing on is health care in the community. This includes what is called 'primary care', in other words, GPs, dentists, pharmacists and opticians. It also includes services such as district nurse and health visiting, therapists and others.
Many of the developments actively involve our partners, both statutory and voluntary. We believe that working together in a more integrated way offers real benefits to the quality of service we offer to patients.
