Providing quality services
What we do to help us meet patients' expectations.
We make sure all the services that we commission are safe, of good quality and meet patients' expectations. We are always looking at ways to improve the health and healthcare services of local people. This can include changing the way services are provided where we need to, and providing clinical know-how and training to staff, patients and the public.
In the left-hand menu bar you can see information on some of the services we commission and the work they do to help to maintain and drive up standards.
Up until 1 May 2011, our services were provided by an arm's-length division of the PCT, Wakefield District Community Healthcare Services (WDCHS). These services have now transferred to other local providers - The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust and Wakefield Council. Full details of local services can be found on www.nhs.uk.
WDCHS has published its Quality Account, which decribes the quality and performance of the services it provided. You can read the Account by following the link on the right-hand side.
