Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

If you are a patient, PALS should usually be your first point of contact.

PALS is a free, confidential service which can be used by anyone who would like more information about the different services provided by the PCT and other local health-related organisations.

The service is here to help anyone with a query or concern, including members of the public, patients and carers as well as staff who work in GP surgeries, dental surgeries, opticians and pharmacies. If PALS is unable to help, the team will assist in finding someone who can.

PALS is about resolving issues on the spot, however if you wish to make a formal complaint you still have the right to do so. The PALS team will explain the procedure and if you need help making your complaint you can contact The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS). They are there to help you through the NHS Complaints Procedure step by step.
